I came across Play Networks recently, which has a pretty interesting business model that leverages Web 2.0 in a sensible way:
In brief - Play Networks core business is to make life easier for film distributors and online media owners. We act as a trailer and video content aggregator for film companies and as a video content gateway for online media. Play Networks has developed a world leading online trailer sharing platform. The platform is used by some of the biggest film distributors in Europe such as Fox, Warner and Sony to share trailer content with online media such as MSN, Lycos and 3. To us its key that a trailer distribution system is simple: Upload your trailer and it will be encoded to all possible formats (Flash, Windows, QT etc). Also it will be published/streamed on Play partner websites, at in-store public spaces and to mobile devices. Play covers all aspects of digital distribution – way beyond what any current content database system is providing today. Play is the web 2.0 of trailer distribution. As of today we provide content services to more than 150 companies in four countries. Our goal is to be local representation in at least 10 countries by the end of 2008.
And if you want nice content, it's as easy as this: [It works perfectly, but I realised that the embedded code I was using, didn't have a valid ID]
