PaceMetrics Limited is a medium sized software house, based in Dublin and London. The company specialises in the development and implementation of real-time operational risk systems for financial institutions.
Project
Early in 2003, PaceMetrics was awarded a contract by a major Tier 1 Investment Bank to develop a proof of concept for the implementation of real-time Business Activity and Business Event Monitors throughout the institution. Following on from the success of the initial phase, further contracts were awarded to demonstrate the resilience and scalability of the solution and to roll out BAM/BEM solutions to the Client Services and Derivatives groups worldwide.
Three distinct projects were defined
The enormity of the project was further increased by the fact that the underlying product solution had just been completely re-architected - from a database solution to a real-time messaging solution using JMS. In addition, the solution involved the integration of a variety of technologies on the bank's part that had not previously been tested in production.
